Roof Flashing Repair in Cerrillos, NM

Roof Flashing Repair in Cerrillos, NM

Roof flashing repair restores the metal that seals the joints where a roof meets a wall, chimney, valley or penetration. Cerrillos, NM Storm Damage Roof Repair handles flashing work throughout Cerrillos, NM, and it accounts for a large share of the leaks we get called to.

Flashing fails more often than shingles do, and that surprises people. Shingles sit flat and shed water. Flashing has to seal a moving joint between two materials that expand at different rates through every temperature cycle. Over years the metal works loose, the sealant behind it hardens and cracks, and a gap opens that is invisible from the ground.

Storms accelerate all of it. Wind gets under a flashing edge and lifts it, hail dents the metal and breaks the seal line, and debris scrapes counter-flashing out of its mortar joint.

We repair rather than caulk. A bead of sealant over failed flashing is a six-month fix that looks like a repair, and we see plenty of them. Proper work means lifting the surrounding shingles, replacing or refitting the metal, tucking counter-flashing back into a cut reglet where the detail calls for it, and closing the courses back over the top.
